Wherever there is dark there is light, wherever there are villains there are heroes.
When four young boys in Detroit’s 7 Mile neighborhood went above and beyond to rescue a dog in need, the difference was clear. As they were assisting a lady relocate, brothers Kenny, Kenneth, and Kevin Dancy stumbled into a sight that would have startled any adult.
They discovered an abandoned dog tied to the back of a house with bungee cords. Emaciated and shivering from exposure, the poor pup was in a seriously bad way.
The lads were well aware that they needed to act quickly. In order to keep the dog warm, they wrapped her in a winter coat before releasing her from her restraints and bringing her home with them so they could provide her with food and drink. Sparkle was the name given to her by her parents.
As luck would have it, they happened to run with members of the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue while out walking Sparkle about town.
They informed the guys about the dog’s ordeal, and they concluded that Sparkle was also suffering from mange at the time. The group brought her in for veterinary treatment, and they took the opportunity to express their emotional gratitude in a Facebook video in which they referred to the lads as ‘heroes.’
Theresa Sumpter, the organization’s founder, told WDIV, ‘You could see they genuinely adore this dog.’
‘They wanted to make sure the dog was going to a nice environment because they were protective of the dog.’
An examination at the shelter revealed that Sparkle did not suffer from mange. As a result, she might be placed for adoption more quickly. As a result of the efforts of Pet Tales Rescue, a foster home was found for Sparkles, and she was able to get the care she needed.
Two additional pets were saved by the four young boys who had been widely praised for their generosity and kindness. They were able to get the pups to the vet for treatment thanks to the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue once again.
These young men have made me quite proud. What an inspiration to us all.
