This is the beautifully bonding moment between a gorilla and a woman over their newborn babies! Motherly love is undoubtedly the most powerful force on Earth, as this viral moment exemplifies.
When Michael Austin, his wife Emmily, and their newborn son went to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, they had no idea they would have one of the most poignant meetings a human and a wild animal could possibly have. ‘I never could’ve dreamed we’d have this moment when I stepped into the zoo that day,’ Emmily stated.
They had quite an experience when they got close to Kiki’s cage — an endangered Western Lowland gorilla. The young family came to a halt when they noticed the gorilla in her 7-month-old son’s company. It didn’t take long for Kiki and her baby Pablo to meet their guest, but what followed it was incredible.
Michael told THE DODO, ‘My wife brought out our son to present to Kiki.’ “Then she [the gorilla] took Pablo and carried him her leg in front of us.’
The two mothers then had a brief but wonderful interaction. And they appear to be conversing in the same language. It was a truly unique and passionate relationship. Michael also captured the scene on his cellphone, and the video went viral.
Michael says, ‘It was one of the most beautiful experiences.’ ‘Kiki was using her hands to communicate with us. At one point, Pablo pressed his face to the glass, and they stood there, noses touching, watching him. My wife and I were both tearing up.’
