Marcus, Joseph Knight’s companion and business partner, stabbed him in the back and framed him, taking over the restaurant from Joseph.
Marcus had always wanted to work at Joseph’s restaurant, and he finally got his chance.
Joseph was a kind man who kept a container outside the restaurant where the restaurant’s personnel would drop leftovers for the homeless to eat.
Marcus accidentally put spoiled food in the container one day, and everyone who ate it got sick.
Unfortunately, Joseph was taken to court and lost his case, so Marcus took over the restaurant. Joseph was certain he wasn’t to blame and that Marcus had set him up, but he couldn’t prove it.
All of the employees at Joseph’s restaurant couldn’t believe he was the criminal, and they cried when they found out Marcus would be the new owner. They were, however, powerless to stop it.
Joseph was depressed after losing his restaurant. He was always drunk and spent all of his money on alcohol to forget that his restaurant, which he had raised like a child, was no longer his.
He quickly lost all of his savings, and his wife ejected him from the house because she didn’t want to live with a man who was ten years her senior and had no money.
Joseph didn’t have any children; his restaurant was his only kid, and he was now alone. He felt betrayed and abandoned his life, eventually becoming a homeless man on the streets.
He was walking the streets one day until exhaustion and fatigue caused him to collapse at a dumpster.
He hadn’t eaten in days and was unable to buy things. He heard a soothing voice as he lay clutching his stomach. ‘Pardon me, but are you hungry?’
Joseph gently sat up and opened his eyes, shocked to recognize her. ‘Phoebe?’ he inquired softly. ‘Oh goodness, how did you end up here’
‘Joseph?’ Phoebe looked at him, speechless. ‘Oh, my God! What went wrong with you?’
‘Darling, it’s a long story. Could you please get something to eat for me? I’m hungry, ‘He begged.
She said, ‘Of course.’ “Please accompany me.’
Phoebe took Joseph to a restaurant and ordered hot chicken soup and sandwiches for him. When Phoebe questioned what had happened when he finished eating, Joseph told her the complete story.
Joseph has been a friend of Phoebe’s since she was a child. Joseph often gave her gifts and chocolates whenever he came to see her.
Phoebe then relocated to a different place for further education after graduating from high school. When she returned, she had no idea she’d run into Joseph in this manner.
Phoebe felt awful the next day after meeting Joseph and decided to help him. Every day, she started going to Marcus’ restaurant and ordering food.
Marcus caught his 29-year-old daughter in the act one day and learned why the restaurant’s food was mysteriously missing.
Marcus pursued Phoebe to see where she was going and discovered her in an abandoned cellar far from the restaurant. She didn’t come out after many minutes. Marcus froze as she finally did, his mouth open in surprise that she wasn’t alone.
‘What on earth is she doing with him?’ he pondered angrily as he left his car. When he saw Phoebe with Joseph, he screamed at her, ‘Phoebe, keep away from him!’
He completely lost his cool as he approached them. ‘So you’ve decided to eat at my restaurant? Joesph, how shameless are you? Do you have any sense of morality left in you?’
‘Dad!’ Phoebe retorted. ‘Stop acting that way! I’m just trying to help child because he’s hungry!’
‘Get out of here, Phoebe!’ he exclaimed. ‘How dare you assist my old enemy?’
‘Rival?’ Phoebe’s attention was fixed on his. ‘Enough is enough, Dad! Don’t you want to stop annoying him? You robbed him of his restaurant! At the very least, let him live!’
Marcus couldn’t believe Phoebe was addressing him in that manner. ‘He’s tainted your mind! I didn’t deny him of anything. He was ejected from the restaurant because—’
‘I’m confident Joseph is telling the truth because I overheard you discussing framing him!” He was shouted at by Phoebe. ‘I was a child at the time, and I was terrified you’d chastise me if I told everyone the truth. I suppose I should’ve!’
Marcus was speechless, unable to say anything. Phoebe’s knowledge of everything shocked him.
‘How come you’re not saying anything, dad?’ Phoebe looked at him tearfully. ‘Let me explain why… We’re both aware of what you did to Joseph.
I took him here to this basement, dad. It’s empty, and no one lives here, so I figured he could find some protection here… But no, you don’t want him to live in peace.
‘He was your mate, father! Friends help each other, yet you deceived him and several others who became ill after eating the rotten meal. Dad, keep doing what you’re doing, and I’ll leave you too! Goodbye! ‘Go it alone!” She was screaming at him.
‘Are you going to abandon me for this man? Really?” Marcus locked his attention on her. ‘Fine, Phoebe, I disown you as well! Go away!’ Before going away, he screamed at her.
Marcus arrived to his restaurant the next day in a foul attitude. He couldn’t sleep the night before since Phoebe had raged at him in front of Joseph.
He went inside and sat down, but there was no one there. He checked his watch and saw that it had already beyond the opening time by half an hour.
When his phone abruptly beeped and a message from Phoebe flashed across the screen, he questioned, “What’s going on?’
As he read it, Marcus’ eyes were wide.
‘Dad, enjoy your time alone! Last night, I learned you prefer to be alone, so I told all of the employees the truth about how you stole the restaurant from Joseph. They are not going back to work!’
Marcus was angry and upset. The workers left their employment because they didn’t want to work with Marcus after learning of his betrayal of Joseph.
Marcus couldn’t recruit enough personnel quickly, and the restaurant was on the edge of closing a month later. He quickly ran out of money and was left on his own.
He realized his error at that point and called Phoebe, begging with her forgiveness and promised to restore the restaurant to Joseph.
Because they were living together, Phoebe told him to come to her house and apologize to Joseph.
Marcus was taken aback. ‘Do you live with him?’
She said, ‘Yes, Dad.’ ‘We’re both working on a new restaurant that Joseph has opened. I needed to apply my MBA degree in some capacity.
We were helped by his entire old crew. He would, however, like to take what is his “Before hanging up, she said.
Marcus was crying. He paid Phoebe a visit and handed over the restaurant to Joseph. While Marcus was lonely and alone, he noticed how happy they were together. He acknowledged his error and apologized to Joseph.
Because Joseph had a big heart, he forgave him and rebuilt his old restaurant from the ground up when he returned. All of the staff members were relieved, especially Phoebe, that Joseph had returned what was truly his.
