When Linden Ashby met his wife, Susan Walters, a talented actor, his acting career was still in its early stages. When they met on the set of ‘Loving’ in 1986, they fell in love.
The tv drama set was in New York, and in a prior interview, Linden mentioned how, despite the place where they met and their careers, the odds happened to favor them. The couple instantly fell in love.
The actor stated that he and Susan married three months after first meeting! She was around 21 or 22, and he was 24 or 25 when they married, according to the actor from Atlantic Beach, Florida.
Linden, who was born on May 23, 1960, attended Bolles High School in Jacksonville, Florida, before enrolling at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, to earn a degree in psychology and business administration, which he left becouse of his junior year to attempt acting classes.
He studied acting at Neighborhood Playhouse after relocating to New York. Linden was fortunate to get small acting roles, and in 1994 he co-starred in ‘Wyatt Earp’ with Kevin Costner.
His breakthrough role was as Johnny Cage in the ‘Mortal Kombat’ films. In 1997, he starred in ‘Blast,’ and the next year, he appeared in 35 episodes of ‘Melrose Place.’
Linden also played Cameron Kirsten on ‘The Young and the Restless (Y&R)’ for 55 episodes. He appeared in the film ‘Wild Things 2’ in 2004, then three years later in ‘Resident Evil: Extinction.’
In 2008, the actor starred opposite Steven Seagal in ‘Against the Dark,’ and his fans saw him in ‘Impact Point’ the same year. He appeared in ‘Anaconda – Trail of Blood’ the next year, and he appeared on ‘Teen Wolf’ from 2011 until 2017.
In his acting career, Linden has had the privilege of appearing in various tv dramas. He’s played Curtis Alden in ‘Loving,’ Paul Hollingsworth in ‘Days of our Lives,’ and Y&R, among other roles.
Linden’s wife, Diane Jenkins, was on the show when producers invited him to appear in the thirteen-episode series as the villain.
The character was so well received that he was asked to return for further episodes. He was filming a movie at the same time as starring on ‘Y&R,’ so he had to share his time between the two projects.
Acting in a tv drama, Linden explained, was nerve-wracking but also exciting for performers since it felt like they were in a live, spontaneous performance. He compared it to filming a play, but admitted that he didn’t have much time to prepare and felt pressured to get a scene right quickly.
Linden and Susan routinely post on Instagram about how they’ve kept their great friendship going. Linden shared a nice photo of himself and his wife outside in September 2021.
Susan kissed her husband on the cheek while he smiled and glanced straight at the camera. He claimed they were out riding, fishing, and climbing while living the good life at Zion National Park in the caption of the post.
The pair seemed to like being active and athletic, as they were photographed beside Trabuco Canyon in California the month later. The actress posted a picture of herself and her spouse riding dirt motorcycles.
The couple celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on April 19, 2022. Susan marked the occasion with a sweet snapshot of herself and her husband posing, describing him as her ‘spouse, partner, friend, and rock.’
Susan and her husband have two daughters, both of whom have grown up. Grace Ashby was born in June 1991, and Savannah Ashby was born in November of the next year.
The family of four used to split their time between California and Atlanta, Georgia, with Linden adding that he had discussed acting with his children. According to the actor, he informed them he was fine with them joining in.
He insisted, however, that they first receive an education. The family has close ties, and when they visited Linden’s mother in Atlantic Beach, they also made an effort to see his sister, nieces, and nephews.
When at Atlantic Beach, the actor frequented ‘Pete’s Bar’ in Neptune Beach. He also attended the ‘Oyster Bar’ and ‘Sliders Seafood Grille’ in the region, as well as ‘Tapas’ and ‘Royal Palm Village Wine’ in Atlantic Beach.
Susan announced in March 2022 that Grace would be a first-time mother, making them first-time grandparents! The actress said that her daughter is expecting a child in August 2022.
The actress expressed how thrilled she and her hubby were about it. Savannah, on the other hand, found her way into the entertainment sector and worked as the legal counsel of business affairs for Paramount/Viacom TV.
Susan played Diane Jenkins on ‘The Young and the Restless’ from 2001 until 2004. According to the actress’ discussion on the Dishing with Digest podcast, she got to resume her part in 2022 after Jenkins faked her death.
Susan admitted that even though she hadn’t starred on the Tv series in 20 years, she felt like she had recently. Aside from ‘Loving” and ‘Y&R,’ the actress and her spouse have been in other series together.
Both ‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Teen Wolf’ included them. Susan claimed in a 2022 People magazine interview that her husband assisted her with her lines for ‘Y&R,’ in which she co-starred with Eric Braeden and Peter Bergman.
Linden was entitled to around ‘three quarters’ of her salary, she joked, because he assisted her with her lines every night. She expressed her admiration for him by describing him as ‘wonderful.’
