Jeanick Fournier is her name, and don’t forget it because this 49-year-old mother recently wowed Canada’s Got Talent and the rest of the world with her performance.
She is a personality who took to the stage and had all four judges on their feet by the end of her performance.
Jeanick was born and raised in Chicoutimi, Quebec. At the age of seven, the mother of two kids began singing at church. Jeanick has maintained this behavior throughout her adult life. She began by using a hairbrush as a microphone to perform songs.
The family was her first public.
Down’s syndrome has been diagnosed in two of Jeanick’s children. She works as a palliative care attendant, assisting patients with terminal illnesses with end-of-life care and support. Fournier said that if she wins, she wants to provide her two children a better life.
Celine Dion is her primary inspiration, as evidenced by her audition. Jeanick is incredible considering she exclusively performed for her family and at bars.
As a result, she sang ‘I Surrender,’ a Celine Dion song. What’s even more amazing is that she’s already 49 years old. Jeanick should’ve been discovered much sooner!
Now sit back and admire her singing skills. Jeanick serenades the audience before ending on an extremely high note that she hits, keeps, and impresses the audience with. Lilly Singh, the judge, exclaimed, ‘Wow.’ ‘This is exactly the reason of this show.’
Fournier is ‘on par’ with fellow French-Canadian singer Celine Dion, according to Kardinal Offishall. Trish Stratus couldn’t help herself from screaming about how ‘amazing’ it was.
Howie Mandel added, ‘You are an angel.’ ‘There aren’t many people that are like you… ‘It seemed as though it came from another universe.’ These are those who have witnessed and heard it all.
While Jeanick was taking it all in, host Lindsay Ell emerged from behind the curtains to hug Fournier before proceeding to the judges’ table to address the mother of two. To be the first to press the Golden Buzzer.
One of the viewers that met Jeanick had a story to tell.
‘I spent a day with her as a Practical Nurse in clinicals and had no idea who she was. While assisting folks on their deathbeds, she sang brilliantly.
Her vitality was incredible. Now that I see this, I’m stunned… she deserves the greatest of everything.’
Fournier is a truly remarkable woman.
For someone who used to sing into a hairbrush, this is quite impressive.
As the judges and audience praise her on their feet, Jeanick drowns in gold in delighted tears. All she had to do was serenade us with her wonderful voice, and her dreams were about to come true.
It’s not too late if you’re 49. Fournier has a decade or so to leave a legacy, based on the impact she’s had. Her children will have something to be proud of as well.
