Will Johnny Depp agree to return to his famous role of Jack Sparrow after the trial. A former Disney executive gives some details

According to a former Walt Disney Studios official, Johnny Depp could return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise in the future. This follows the revelation of the verdict in his trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp won all three defamation allegations in his case after six weeks of testifying in the defamation trial between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and his ex-wife Heard.

Depp filed the $50 million lawsuit in March 2019, alleging that Heard’s 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post damaged his Hollywood career. Due to the crisis, the litigation was postponed, but it was just reopened, with Heard countersuing for $100 million.

Due to a Virginia law cap on severe penalties, Depp was granted $15 million in damages, but Heard will only have to pay $10.35 million. Compensation of $2 million was awarded to the Aquaman star.

Depp said in a statement following the verdict that the ‘best is yet to come’ for him. ‘My life, the lives of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and the lives of those who have supported and believed in me for many years were radically changed six years ago.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye’ he stated ‘False, severe, and criminal allegations were made about me in the media, resulting in a never-ending unpleasant information, despite the fact that no charges were ever made against me.

It had already traveled twice around the world in a second and had a profound impact on my life and career. Six years later, the jury give back  my life to me.’

Now, a former Walt Disney Studios executive believes Johnny Depp will reprise his most famous role, Captain Jack Sparrow, on the big screen.

‘I certainly feel Pirates is ready for a remake with Johnny as Captain Jack returning on board post-verdict,’ the former executive told PEOPLE.

‘There is simply too much potential box-office gold for a popular Disney character who is profoundly embedded in the society.

With [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer riding high on Tom Cruise’s big success in Top Gun: Maverick, there’s a lot of interest in bringing back bankable Hollywood actors in hugely popular series’ Added the insider.
