After his pregnant wife enters a long sleep, the  father of the family must hope for a miracle: ‘It means the world to us.’

When Daniel White and his wife Pia Reyes learned they were expecting baby in February, it was nothing short of a miracle. Finally, the couple was living their dream.

But when Pia suffered a brain hemorrhage during Memorial Day weekend and fell into a coma at 22 weeks pregnant, it was abruptly taken away from them. Daniel is now all alone, pleading for another miracle.

‘We are hoping and fighting for a lot of things. It greatly matters to us,’ added the 42-year-old analyst who works in planning and development for Fairfax County in Virginia.

Daniel added of his 42-year-old partner, who is also an analyst for the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation, ‘You will never meet someone more caring than her. She doesn’t ever consider herself.’

‘She considers other people constantly. She is simply lovely. She would genuinely go above and above for anybody she met. She would do anything to please them and would go above and beyond for them ‘According to PEOPLE, he continued by mentioning his wife, whom he met on Match.com eight years before.

On August 8, 2019, the pair, who enjoys cooking, going to concerts, and playing golf together, exchanged vows. But soon after they made the decision to grow their family, a doctor advised them that they would need to use in vitro fertilization (IVF) to birth.

The two were thrilled when Pia unexpectedly fell pregnant in late February without using any reproductive medications.

Their unborn son, who is due on October 17, was described by Daniel as ‘simply happening.’ They gave the unborn child the name Noah, and in April they even acquired a new house in Herndon for their expanding family.

Things were going well until they traveled to Daniel’s family’s home on Hatteras Island in North Carolina’s Outer Banks just before Memorial Day.

Pia started having a headache all week on Thursday, and by Sunday night, her condition was getting worse. Daniel, who cleaned her up after she vomited, remembers that ‘she was sweating and running a little bit of a fever.’

‘She appeared in good shape. She then vomited a little bit more ‘Daniel, who stayed beside his wife as she slept off, shared.

He noted ‘her breathing changed’ and became more erratic all of a sudden. He continued, ‘I tried to rouse her up, but she wasn’t responsive. Daniel dialed 911 right after, and after several efforts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation, they took her to The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head.

After discovering Pia had a brain hemorrhage through a CAT scan, physicians decided to drain the fluid from her head and explained how the blood clot was pressing on her brain stem and sending Pia into a sleep.

‘They wanted to give her a chance because she was so young. Daniel, who now claims, “we’re truly in a holding pattern,’ revealed, ‘a chance to survive.’ Despite Pia’s stable state, surgeons are unable to operate because of where the blood clot is located.

Regarding her pregnancy, the child must survive until weeks 23 or 24 in order to birth safely. ‘His heartbeat is audible to us. That appears to be powerful. We therefore have great hope, but there are still many questions ‘the distraught soon-to-be father said.

‘That may be the Pia spirit that lives on. I am quite grateful for it, ‘Of his unborn child, he stated. The doctors are doing everything they can for his wife.

‘They want to help her in any way they can. But we’re not sure how she’ll manage to overcome everything ‘The distraught spouse said. Since it is a brain injury and they have performed some angiograms, they have been unable to really identify any anomalies, anything that actually caused it.

‘If she makes it, her quality of life could be fairly terrible, but we don’t really know since it is a brain damage,’ says the doctor.

Our prayers with you Pia!
