An incident was registered at the World Aquatics Championship in Budapest. During the performance, the synchronized swimmer representing the USA Anita Alvarez lost consciousness in the water.
This was immediately noticed by her coach, Andrea Fuentes, and at the same time she jumped into the pool. As a result, the synchronous swimmer was saved and taken out of the water.
‘I swam with her as fast as I could. When I pulled her out, she was not breathing, her jaw was clenched.
I put it on my side because it is wrong to leave it on my back. ‘She was not breathing for two minutes, for a moment I was very scared,’ said the coach.
Now everything is fine with the athlete.
