She had learned this interesting fact while watching the Antiques Roadshow. She brought her map to antiques expert Christopher Lane to get additional information when the well-known TV program came to her town.

Lane was initially unsure that the map had a centerfold. But after giving it a closer look and touching it, he realized it was a genuine map from 1640!

He could even name the map. One of the most well-known (and frequently reprinted) maps in history is the Willem Blaeu World Map.

The hand-colored map, which was created in Amsterdam, is incredibly popular and valuable. It’s understandable why the woman was surprised when Lane revealed the estimated worth to her. The map is plastered down, yet it is still worth $10,000, according to estimates.
