The emergency line of the New Zealand Police received a strange call from a toddler. What happened next will touch you…Video below

Recently, the emergency line of the New Zealand Police received a strange call that they deemed ‘too adorable not to publish.’ During the incident, a young child dialed 111. (the 911 equivalent in New Zealand to North America).

The small boy calmly replies, ‘Police lady…can I tell you something,’ when the emergency dispatcher asks him why he is calling. She nods, and the following is what is heard on the footage of their conversation:

The young boy says he has some toys for the police and wants them to come over and look at them.

A little while later, the father answers the phone and informs the police that there is no emergency, that the mother is ill, and that he (the father) was distracted with their other child and failed to observe that child using the phone.

According to New Zealand Police, a constable did visit the residence after the call was over to look at the 4-year-old’s toys.

‘Constable Kurt from Southern District Police replied by traveling to the child’s home and was shown a variety of toys,’ they posted on Instagram.

He also had a fruitful conversation with the boy’s parents on the need of only calling 111 in an emergency.

Kurt, a police officer, added that the boy did had ‘nice toys.’

The emergency operator’s cool demeanor and concern for the family’s well-being won her a lot of admirers.

One user on Reddit commented, ‘Good that they did a welfare check as well in case there was something else going on.’

Kid was fairly smart because they could not only dial the phone but also instantly recognized who they were chatting to.

Thankfully, all of these incidents turned out to be entertaining stories that everyone could enjoy as well as teaching opportunities for the kids.
