Julia Roberts was engaged to several men before deciding to settle down with the love of her life, much like her character in Runaway Bride.

The 54-year-old actress has been happily married to Danny Moder for many years, but prior to their union, Roberts had dated famous men like Liam Neeson and Kiefer Sutherland.

Roberts and Neeson were first connected in 1987, but according to Closer Weekly, Roberts realized they weren’t meant to be after a year.

Having made a name for herself in the performing world, she later started dating and eventually got engaged to Dylan McDermott.

She broke off the engagement, then a few years later got engaged to Kiefer Sutherland, but that too fell through.

Roberts made the decision to get married to actor and musician Lyle Lovett after two failed engagements. Although they were married in 1993, they divorced in 1995.

She dated a couple more actors before running with Danny Moder while working on The Mexican movie sets. Contrary to her past companions, Moder was not well-known, but the actress didn’t mind.

The only issue was that when Moder met the Pretty Woman star, he was still wed to his first wife Vera Steimberg.

He quickly divorced his wife, though, and continued to enjoy a wonderful connection with Roberts. Phinnaeus and Hazel, twins, and Henry, a male, were born to them after they said ‘I do’ in June 2002.

Roberts has opted to keep the specifics of her love life a secret, although she has expressed how happy her spouse makes her.

The actress said, ‘I believe the first kind of real’seismic shift’ was meeting Danny, getting married to Danny… that was the first’my life will never be the same’ in the most wonderful, indescribable way,’ in an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow for her GOOP Podcast in 2018.

She continued by calling her hubby ‘my favorite human.’ ‘He remains my favorite person to this day and right now.

More than anyone else, I’m interested in what he has to say or his point of view. In that regard, we are quite fortunate. We simply enjoy one other’s company and have a great relationship’ She revealed.

‘We have been together for 18 years and have been married for 16 years. It simply deepens and becomes more sophisticated ‘ insisted Roberts.

She continued by saying that unless one is married, one can never truly understand how it will function.

‘You don’t know if you’re going to like the same couch and you don’t know if he is going to want to get patterned towels,’ the author writes,’ but you’re young and you fall in love and go.

‘Yeah, we’re going to get married and we’re going to build a house and will have kids,’ and all these things that we kind of dream of.’

A source told Closer Weekly back in 2020 that ‘The chemistry between (Roberts and Moder) is essential, they continued, adding that they ‘really feel like soulmates.’

After all this time, Julia still thinks Danny to be quite attractive, and he still adores her.’ According to them, they are ‘dedicated to staying together for the long term, whatever it takes.’
