The mother of three children was ‘caught’ while stealing food. the police followed her to her home and did what no one expected…

What would you do if your children were hungry and you had no one to turn to for help?

The mother of three children was in that terrible situation. She had no other option but to steal food from the store.

Theresa West was ready for anything, but she didn’t even think that the local police would act like that.

In early November, police officers Keith Bradshaw and Candace Springins received information that a robbery had occurred at a Food Lion store. They were quickly sent to the scene.

Kit and Candace decided not to arrest the criminal right away, but followed Teresa to her house. And they didn’t even regret that they did that.

After all, they found out the real reason for the mother of three children to take that step.

Teresa told in the interview

‘I asked for help, but my table was empty for 3 days. And then I just had no other choice.’ The poor mother had stolen basic necessities and food from the store. The amount was not that much, about 36 dollars.

Of course, the police had to fine the woman. And she, in turn, returned all the food that she had stolen.

‘This cannot even be called a crime. After all, she did it out of necessity. She just wanted to feed her children,’ the police of that region wrote on their Facebook page.

However, the story did not end there. That same evening, the police couple returned to Teresa’s house.

They had brought food for the woman and children, paying 140 dollars for the purchases. The police had spent that money from their own wallets.

They bought all the basic necessities for the family: meat, fruits, vegetables, etc.

This is an ordinary thing for someone, but it meant a lot to the mother of many children. It is difficult to convey their emotions in words.

Hillsborough County Police, when this happened, wrote:

‘First of all, we are good-hearted people, and then we are policemen. We often sympathize with people. Captain Bradshaw and Officer Springins are to be commended.’

And indeed, the police can also do such good deeds, in addition to protecting people.
