The age difference between Patrick Stewart and his wife Sunny Ozell is 38 years, but they remain deeply in love.

Many people will be familiar with the name Patrick Stewart. The actor has received numerous honors, including being named an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire and being given the title ‘sir.’

Sir Patrick is most known for his performances as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the television series ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ and ‘Star Trek:

Picard,’ as well as his portrayal of Professor Charles Xavier in the majority of the films in the franchise to date.

The actor makes sure that he can continue to perform what he loves most—theatre—even with commercial success.

In terms of his personal life, the actor initially wed actress Sheila Falconer in 1966. The pair has two children—Sophie and Daniel Stewart—and has been married for 24 years. Sophie avoids being photographed, but Daniel is a gifted actor who has worked with his father.

His subsequent relationship, which he began in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation,’ with producer Wendy Neuss, did not survive very long. 2000 saw their wedding and 2003 saw their divorce. Sir Patrick then appeared to be considering staying single.

But then, purely by accident, he ran into Sunny Ozell. From Reno, Nevada, Ozell is a jazz vocalist and songwriter.

She came from a musically inclined family and showed talent at a young age, which allowed her to make her singing debut in New York early in her career.

In 2008, when he was about 70 years old, she randomly crossed paths with Sir Patrick through friends. At the time, the vocalist was thirty. At the Brooklyn Academy of Music that year, Sir Patrick was starring in a production of Macbeth.

She was also a waitress at a local restaurant. The first time the two met was at the restaurant. Ozell admitted that she had wanted to attend his performance but that it had been sold out.

Sir Patrick informed Ozell that the production was heading to Broadway and provided her his contact information, claiming he could assist in getting her tickets.

It was the first time Sir Patrick had given a woman his number, and he recalls that his objectives from that contact were not at all romantic.

Ozell almost left the theatre because she was so moved by Sir Patrick’s performance. However, she made the choice to stay, and they had dinner together after the show, which sparked their romance.

‘I had the impression that I was speaking with a very nice, smart, fascinating, and attractive woman. All those components coming together at once is unusual.

From the beginning, music was a part of it. Since I met Sunny, I’ve learned more about music,” he once remarked.

Sunny didn’t admit she was a singer until a few weeks into their relationship, at which point she invited Sir Patrick to one of her performances.

Sir Patrick was spellbound by her performance and later remarked, ‘She sang ‘The Tennessee Waltz.” It was lovely. Her singing style has never been heard before. It really impressed me.

The wedding was made even more spectacular by Sir Patrick’s lifelong best friend and fellow actor Sir Ian McKellen officiating.

They soon learned, however, that Sir Ian was not legally permitted to wed them in Nevada because he had been ordained in California.

Therefore, the pair went to a Mexican restaurant to get legally married following the Nevada ceremony. Sir Patrick and Ozell have a 38-year age gap, but they do not let it stand in the way of their love.

‘We bridge that gap because he has a youthful energy and I suppose I’m more like a grandmother who cares a lot. We don’t discuss that very much,’ stated Ozell.

The pair decided to get married in September 2013 on the shores of Lake Tahoe after five years of dating. On his twitter page, the actor announced the marriage with a picture of the couple in a ball pit and the remark, ‘Yes, married.’

Ozell said that she had some trepidation about meeting Patrick’s children from his first marriage. I had to be careful since I didn’t want to push it, but they were extremely kind, she said.

The only person who objected to the union was Ozell’s father, but Sir Patrick quickly won him over.

Even though Sir Patrick is officially 5 years older than him, he said that their relationship was excellent now and referred to him as his ‘son’!

In an effort to assist rehome pitbulls and dispel the stigma associated with the breed, the couple spends time together while promoting love for all animals.
