It is easy to lose weight, but it is much more difficult not to regain the pounds you have diligently lost and maintain the achieved result.
Imagine that you have more than 100 kilograms of extra weight, and as a result of which you cannot walk, swim or just stand straight.
This happened to Nikki Webster from our story. At 34, she weighed 275 kilograms, and the situation was critical for her – she was dying.
Nikki’s enormous weight was the result of her addiction to food. ‘My weight is exhausting me. My body hurts so much that I can’t take it anymore. I believe that food has become an addiction for me, and this addiction is now killing me,’ says Nikki.
The turning point in Nikki’s life came when she was invited to participate in the TV show ‘I weigh 300 kg’ (‘My 600 lb life’).
Realizing that being overweight was dangerous to her health, Nikki decided to move from Arizona to Texas in order to be closer to her primary care physician, Dr. Nazardan.
Dr. Nazardan specializes in weight loss in obese people.
Nikki hoped that weight loss surgery would solve all her problems, but this required more than one surgical intervention.
The doctors told her that she had to lose at least 20 kilos on her own before they could operate on her. In less than three months, Nikki managed to lose the necessary kilograms and began to prepare for gastric bypass surgery.
But Nikki still feared that her old addiction would return and she would gain weight again. She was also concerned about the risks associated with the operation.
‘Early this year, after gastric bypass surgery, my best friend Michael died. The thought that this could happen to me does not give me peace,’ explains Nikki.
But Nikki still dared to have the operation.
The operation was successful, and a year later Nikki managed to lose 100 kilograms! Photos taken before and after surgery speak for themselves. Now Nikki is a completely different person!
But to get to the root of her obesity and get rid of it once and for all, Nikki needed to dig deeper. She contacted specialists to understand the cause of malnutrition and make sure that she would not succumb to the temptation of an old addiction.
At first, Nikki found it difficult to get used to the new lifestyle, which is quite normal, given the difficulty of losing weight and making huge changes in nutrition.
But after the doctor told her that she could have surgery to remove the extra skin left over from her weight loss, Nikki has new motivation to try harder and reach her goal.
After she lost a total of 160 kilograms, doctors approved the operation to remove the skin. During the operation, they removed 25 kilograms of excess skin from Nikki.
Unfortunately, after the skin removal surgery, Nikki developed internal bleeding and had to return to the hospital for a third operation. However, the next operation went without complications, and Nikki quickly recovered.
Now Nikki weighs 90 kilograms and successfully continues to maintain her new weight and follow a healthy diet.
Nikki is healthy and happy and doing better than ever. We hope she succeeds! What an inspiring story! And recently, Nikki married the love of her life, a young man named Marcus.
