Once in the life of all parents there comes a moment that they are all afraid of and, unfortunately, cannot change – the moment when children become adults and fly away like chicks from their parent’s nest.
In some families, it happens that children suddenly leave their parents for thousands of kilometers and cannot often visit them. For example, when sons do military service in the army.
Mom from our story perfectly understands what we are talking about. Her adored sons serve in the military, one in the US Army and the other in the US Navy.
Every year on July 4th, the family takes to the streets of Grass Lake, Michigan to watch the Independence Day parade with joy. For them, this is a special tradition that the family has been following for 25 years.
However, this year, would the family have to watch a military parade parade through the streets of their hometown? without sons John and Tom. At least that’s what their parents thought.
In fact, the brothers, along with their sister Shannon, prepared a special surprise for their parents. Both John and Tom were supposed to participate in the military parade, but decided not to tell their parents about it.
When the important day arrived, the rest of the family, as usual, went outside to watch the solemn event.
The mother, who had already become a grandmother, filmed the procession of the American army standard bearers on camera, so that later she could send the video to her sons and thus support the long tradition.
But then, in the middle of the parade, she suddenly saw two familiar faces. So nice to see what followed after that!
‘I was able to capture their complete surprise when John and Tom approached their parents and there was a huge cheer from the crowd!’ Shannon writes on Youtube.
The video has been viewed almost 3 million times on Youtube and when you see it for yourself you will understand why.
I’m sure any mother will understand the reaction of a mother to a video meeting her sons after a long separation!
