It’s fun to cross things off your bucket list, but many people never get to live out their dreams.
Life is short, and people don’t get to do and see everything they wanted to when they were younger. A 100-year-old woman got her wish, which was a good thing.
The police had to help the 100-year-old woman get what she wanted. Find out how she felt when the police made her birthday wish come true.
HER UNUSUAL BIRTHDAY WISH
Jean Bicketon, who used to be a nurse, lived a long and happy life. She had worked in the army for a long time and seemed to be a good person.
The care facility’s other residents were told about the one-of-a-kind event so that no one would feel worried or stressed out that someone was in trouble.
People were shocked when they asked Bicketon what she wanted for her 100th birthday party in 2022.
The 100-year-party old’s was at Narracan Gardens Residential Aged Care, where a team made sure her strange wish came true.
During the party, three police cars drove up with their lights flashing and sirens going. They came to help Bicketon.
The police wanted to help her realize her dream.
Bicketon had been alive for 100 years, but she had never broken the law.
She had always wondered what it would be like to be arrested. She said, ‘I’ve never been arrested, never had my license taken away, and I’ve never gotten a ticket.’
When the Australian Victoria Police officers at Moe station heard her story, they wanted to help. They wrote on their Facebook page that they were glad to ‘arrest’ Bicketon. In the post, it said:
‘For many people, not getting arrested is a pretty good way to go through life. We’d like to think it’s an easy one.
But for Jean Bicketon, who used to be a nurse, getting arrested was on her list of things to do.’
THE BEST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
The care facility’s other residents were told about the one-of-a-kind event so that no one would feel worried or stressed out that someone was in trouble. The 100-year-old woman had the best time of her life because of the surprise.
The officers put her in handcuffs gently, and she didn’t fight them. She was smiling from ear to ear the whole time. She was surprised by how soft the cuffs were and said, ‘They were too big for me anyway.’
The station was happy to see him, and they wished him a happy birthday. They told us:
