We know there is a lot to be said about birth order and behavior, so it’s possible that this young kid is the oldest child in his family. He might already be exhibiting the stereotypically dapper Texas demeanor.

Another possibility is that he simply cares about Madison, his 4-year-old sister. In any event, this little princess in need was saved by 6-year-old Luke!

Mom The situation was captured on camera by Kelsey Fowler. Congratulations, Mom! Bad behavior is routinely observed, but pointing out and rewarding positive behavior is significantly better for our children’s growth.

Little Miss, decked out in a black, red, and pink dress on a dreary day, is super distressed about the possibility of getting her shoes wet.

They appear to be a striking pair of strappy, gladiator-style sandals, so that is obviously not an option!

Her pink and red bow-adorned pigtails have probably already started to droop a little in the weather. What should a sweetheart like her do?

Miss Madison states the obvious. It’s also good that she wants to look after her sneakers. Madison is slightly pushed by Mom, but she maintains her composure on firm, dry ground.

Alas, it’s Luke to the rescue. He offers to help his sister cross the wet pavement by picking her up. Deal is done!

Luke charges through the muck while wearing black tennies, picks up his sister, and carries her across the puddle. When the tears stop, everything is OK.

Madison would want to practice saying “thank you,” as a less deserving man might anticipate a little more gratitude.

Luke, however, is okay with it. Just a big brother doing what a big brother should. They make a lovely couple, and they have a lovely relationship. Kelsey is raising her two children admirably.
