93-Year-Old Mother Singing Beautifully with Gary Talley

Gary is a talented vocalist and guitarist from Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States. Gary gained notoriety as a result of his participation in The Box Tops.

At the Sounds of Memphis Studio and then at Universal Studios, both in Memphis, he performed with musicians like Jerry Butler, Billy Lee Riley, Hank Ballard, and Ace Cannon.

After making a name for himself with The Box Tops, Gary decided to seek a career in Atlanta’s more expansive musical industry.

He visited there in 1972 and performed on tour with numerous artists, including Pat Boone, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Dobie Gray, Freda Payne, and Billy Joe Royal.

Gary was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in the United States on August 17, 1947. In 1981, he relocated to Nashville, where he worked on recordings alongside many talented artists, including Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, and others.

He has written songs that Keith Whitley, The Box Tops, James Cotton, T. G. Sheppard, Fish Heads & Rice, and other artists have gone on to record.

As the creator of The Box Tops, Gary Talley was honored on November 1st, 2018, by the Memphis Music Hall Of Fame.

Gary and the rest of the band took a six-year pause after the tragic passing of The Box Tops’ lead singer Alex Chilton in 2010.

Bill Cunningham, the band’s original bassist, and Gary remained close friends, and in 2016, they reformed the band and started touring once more.

On March 1st, 2010, he launched his YouTube channel. Over 225,000 people have seen his movies since he started uploading them.
