Hollywood actress Angela Lansbury, who played Jessica Fletcher in the detective series ‘She Wrote Murder’, died in Los Angeles at the age of 96.
The cause of death was not specified, but the family statement said that the actress died in her sleep.
Lansbury rose to fame in 1945 for his role in The Picture of Dorian Gray, considered by film critics to be the best film adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s novel.
For the role of Sibyl, she received a ‘Golden Globe’ and was nominated for an ‘Oscar’.
Lansbury starred in the series ‘He Wrote Murder’ from 1984 to 1996, winning 4 Golden Globes for this role.
Lansbury has also been nominated for an Academy Award multiple times and was finally awarded an honorary statuette in 2014 for her contribution to cinema.
