This family spent close to $50,000 on elaborate Halloween decorations, including a lightshow that syncs with ominous music.
The decorations include fireworks, enormous skeletons, and lights that flash to the beat of the music.
After his wife Christina, 35, discovered her ideal decorated home online in 2020, Kyle Bostick, 34, started decorating the family home.
Nowadays, the Bostick family does a light show for Halloween and any other holiday that is appropriate.
Since they first began, their holiday performances have become a regional sensation, drawing dozens of people daily.
The Bostick have also contributed nearly $20,000 to charitable causes.
The light shows are held not only for Halloween but also for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Thanksgiving because of their popularity.
The decor was DIYed by Kyle, an Apple IT technician, who learned everything he needed to know on YouTube. Kyle even learned how to program the lights on his own.
He purchases the props online, attaches the lighting to them, and creates the independent support structures.
Kyle, from Garden City, Michigan, stated, ‘Christina saw a video and told me I needed to figure it out, I had no idea how to get started.’
‘The software component, which involved programming the lights, was the hardest to complete. The lights are organized into groups, and each group’s color can be changed.
‘All of the props are available for purchase, but you have to erect the structures yourself and they don’t have lights on them.
‘Anyone could program a light show since it takes a very artistic approach, but not everyone could create one that people would want to watch.
‘Every day, cars are parked in a line spanning several blocks of the street.
‘Everyone on our block, with the exception of one, is supportive of what we do and comes outside to see the kids having fun.
‘It’s difficult to put into words that we made something because we enjoyed it, but we also paid close attention to the details. Seeing children participate in and appreciate it is quite gratifying.
‘Once, these parents who had an autistic child would come and stay for hours just to see the lights.’
