A monkey in Sri Lanka who had been treated kindly by a human attended the man’s funeral out of respect for him after he passed away.

Peetambaram Rajan, who was 56 years old and lived in the Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka, passed away not too long ago.

A video was taken by mourners that showed a gray langur sitting next to an open casket containing Rajan’s body and tenderly resting her hand on his chest.

The monkey approaches the man in order to touch his forehead, and then it comes very close to his lips, as if it wants to check to see whether he is still alive.
