Tony Scherb, a sheriff’s deputy who had recently announced his retirement, entered the elevator and started doing the ‘Whip/Nae Nae’ to the music playing.
The Sheriff’s Deputy was set to leave public service after 29 years on the job. Before that, though, he rode an elevator to which he was treated to the melody to which he promptly danced.
Clearly feeling the beat, he broke out into a funky dance performance of ‘Whip/Nae Nae,’ a crowd pleaser at any party.
Not sure if his singing or dancing is better in this video. When you least expect it, another police officer will enter the elevator and join the fun.
The Sheriff Deputy’s partner’s initial reaction is very serious, as she asks him, ‘Are you serious?’ You had to ask, ‘Are you kidding me right now?’
After some convincing from Deputy Scherb, though, she begins to show off some impressive dance skills of her own.
But we’re just getting warmed up. After a short while, the elevator doors open and another police officer steps inside, stunned by what she sees.
Professionally, she tries to act as if the music and dancing around her don’t exist. But she had to participate in the merriment, too!
The Sheriff’s Office created the film as a farewell gift for Deputy Scherb. What an unplanned but hilariously recorded incident of cops busting a move.
The video’s widespread popularity is not shocking. The video has received over four million views since its initial publication.
Maybe Deputy Scherb has found his calling as a dancer, and that’s why the video has gone viral.
Don’t hold back on the laughter, though; forward this retirement dance party on to all your pals.
