Elouise Lyons, 102, of Kansas City, celebrated her birthday in grand manner. Because she was born in 1920, the birthday theme was the Roaring Twenties.
It was a grand occasion, and Elouise was dressed as if she were going to a party hosted by the Great Gatsby. Her entire group of pals gathered in Overland Park to visit Glenwood Village.
Even after all these years, Elouise was unable to reveal the secret of her long life. She could only conclude that she and her twin sister accomplished something right.
Because Elouise couldn’t attend the party, her twin sister was celebrating their birthday in San Francisco. They have numerous memories and have witnessed several historical developments and events.
Elouise’s son, Paul Lyons, remarked that they had only recently begun using airplanes when his mother and aunt were born. It was difficult to believe how long ago that was.
Elouise was grateful for the lovely celebration and the presence of so many of her loved ones. Her favorite birthday memory was difficult to choose. Dancing with her sister is one of her favorite memories.
Paul attributes his mother’s lifespan to her optimism and the daily shot of Scotch whiskey she consumes. Elouise, at 102, is looking forward to more birthday parties.
