Join the Dots in Your Puzzle! The Three Dots, also known as Dorothy Buchanan, Dorothy Murray, and Dorothy Kern, recently celebrated a momentous accomplishment. The same hometown is where all three women are from.
It would be an understatement to say that the three close friends have been friends for a very long time because they all celebrated their 100th birthdays this year.
The world was considerably different when the three best friends were born in Auburn, Maine, in 1919. Just recently, women received the right to vote.
There was a 1.9 percent probability that a newborn girl born in 1919 would live to be 100 years old.
Dot Murray had vivid memories of the difficult years brought on by the 1929–1930 worldwide economic downturn.
Murray stated, ‘Times were tough, but we made it,’ in the early 1930s. Overall, we didn’t have much, thus we couldn’t spend much.
Later in life, she worked as a secretary and supported her husband in running their business. On the occasion of Murray’s 100th birthday, the mayor of Auburn gave her the key to the city. ‘I felt that was sort of a huge deal,’ Murray said.
The three buddies share a variety of interests, but one of them is a passion for reading and music. They enjoy singing together as a group as well.
Everyone seems to be in great health and feeling great as the 100th year of our life draws to a close, Murray remarked, ‘I have no aches or pains. I continue to do all of my obligations in the same way that I normally do when driving.’
Why do they let you drive at 100, wonders Buchanan, with sincere astonishment. Because I haven’t been in any accidents, Murray explained. They can’t stop me, though. I can still drive well.
After having lived through a century, the three friends who have known each other their entire lives have some wise counsel to offer.
She hopes that people will take their time and pay attention to issues affecting the entire planet, like climate change.
Buchanan urges listeners to ‘accept other people for what they are’ in order to demonstrate his wish for tolerance.
Since no two people are same in every way. Murray stressed the need to ‘Get along’ in her remarks, expressing particular concern for the divisive political ideologies that are currently pervasive in the country. Love one another, dear ones.
