‘I just met with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and I have some sad news for you all. I will not be returning to the role of Superman…
Especially after the studio announced in October that I would be coming back…This is not the easiest news, but that’s life.
Change is happening and I respect it. James and Peter must build the universe. I wish them and everyone involved in the new universe the best of luck and all the best,’ wrote Henry Cavill, then continued.
‘Those who have stood by me all these years… We may grieve a little, but we must remember… Superman is still here.
Everything he represents and the examples he passes on to us still exist. My turn is over, but what Superman fights for will never go away. It’s been a fun ride with you all, onward and upward.
