One of the most brilliant vocalists in the music business, Kelly Clarkson, is no stranger to performing on stage.
She was named ‘American Idol’ first’s season’s victor during that time, and she has since gone on to become one of the competition’s most popular competitors and winners.
The comedic nature and endearing wit of Clarkson have made her one of the most admired women in the entertainment business.
Clarkson gained notoriety as a fierce competitor in both the pop and country music scenes.
Clarkson was chosen to commemorate Brooks at the 43rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors, which were held in June 2021 in Washington, D.C.
She then started singing ’The Dance,’ which is regarded as one of Brooks’ signature songs.
Brooks was struck with emotion and broke down in tears as a result of Clarkson’s stirring performance throughout the occasion.
He immediately stood up from his seat and joined the audience in applauding Clarkson after the song performance.
However, it soon became apparent that Clarkson had experienced the same emotional impact as Brooks.
She acknowledged in a 2021 interview that the song ‘The Dance’ holds a very special place in her heart because it provided her with comfort during the difficult divorce proceedings with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.
She claimed that throughout that trying time, the song was the only thing that kept her sane.
The terms of the divorce settlement between Clarkson and Blackstock were finalized in March 2022, and they included Clarkson paying
Blackstock a one-time sum of $1.3 million as well as monthly child support payments to the tune of $45,601 for their two children.
The ex-couples have also agreed to share joint custody of their children, but the kids will still live with Clarkson at her Los Angeles home.
