Ask Iris, 82, and Mohamed, 36; true love has no bounds.
The 37-year-old from Cairo, Egypt, and the 83-year-old from Somerset, England, are deeply in love despite having a 46-year age difference and traveling thousands of miles apart.
Iris has been harassed by detractors and skeptics, but the 83-year-old powerhouse isn’t embarrassed by her choice of spouse and isn’t afraid to share spicy details about her love life.
Egypt is where Mohamed Ibriham, 36, is originally from.In 2019, he connected with British native Iris Jones over Facebook.
Soon after meeting, the two fell in love. They eventually met in Cairo, and got married in November 2020.
But recently, Mohamed has been forced to defend his marriage amid claims that Jones is just his partner because of his need for a visa and her financial support.
Why are people making this assumption so quickly? Iris was 82 years old when they first met.
The couple recently discussed the abuse they have experienced on the British chat show ‘This Morning.’ Mohamed elucidated:
‘Some individuals criticize us. Why? I’m at work. Considering that I need something, I’m not with Iris. I have a bungalow in Cairo and I am a wealthy man.’
Iris is retired and only gets a weekly government payment of roughly 200 pounds ($266).
During the interview, Mohamed referred to Iris as the ‘boss’ of their relationship, and Iris acknowledged that their union has its share of hiccups.
She said, ‘We’re having issues right now because I’m adjusting to having a male around the house and Mohamed is adjusting to living in the west.
The couple first made headlines when they gave a separate interview to ‘This Morning’ in which they talked about the more sensual facets of their relationship. In this interview, they also defended their marriage.
According to Mohamed, ‘The love does not know any difference between age, or countries,’ as reported by the Daily Mail. Iris selected me, and I chose Iris, and this is our life.
To those who criticize our love, he said, ‘I want to say it’s none of your concern, focus on your life, and go to hell. And that’s all.’
In addition, Iris revealed details about their romantic relationship that startled Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, the hosts of This Morning.
‘The first night was quite difficult; it was difficult. I believed I was a virgin once more because I haven’t been with anyone in 35 years.
