Jeanne Cherry from juNxtaposition is an expert at repurposing objects and giving them a new, lovely life.
Although you would not often associate a plastic hanger with the holiday, after seeing this video, you probably will!
The supplies you’ll need are listed below: Snowflake-shaped 16 plastic hangers in a bag of zip -Ties
Feel free to select any design or size of plastic hanger you desire when it comes to using them.
Whether you choose the ones with the extra mini-hooks or perhaps baby hangers for a smaller snowflake is entirely up to you (just pick 16 that are the same).
You’ll require an open space, such as the floor or a sizable table.
To begin, arrange two hangers so that their bottoms are parallel. You will now repeat the process with a different pair.
You can see how one hook from each pair is touching in the image below, which is how they will appear when you lay them out.
In spite of the fact that ‘no two snowflakes are alike,’ Jeanne does point out that you may customize your pattern. But she makes hers in this manner.
Once more, the picture below will help you visualize how it ought to seem.
It is now time to add a second layer of hangers.
Once more, you will connect the bottoms of two hangers. The bottom line should cross through a pair of hooks from the lower layer this time, though.
Once you’ve used 4 pairs and 8 hangers, continue adding layers.Look at that; doesn’t it like a snowflake?
Zip-ties are now required.
Jeanne makes it plain that you shouldn’t first tighten the zip-ties up. Put them on with extra wiggle room at first in case you need to adjust them.
She zip-ties two bottoms from the bottom layer and two hooks from the top together in the video.
She zip-ties the part for the following one identically, but she places the bottoms on top and the hooks below.
Alternately repeat this process around your snowflake until all of the outer pieces are joined.
Go to the inner circle now.You will zip-tie the hangers in groups of four once again (still not too tight).
After the inner circle is fully linked, carefully examine your snowflake and make any necessary modifications.
Once you’re satisfied with the appearance, tighten the zip-ties and trim the ends.Keep in mind that they are totally customisable!
Remember that you can decorate your snowflake as you want before hanging it (or keep them plain like Jeanne).
You are free to decorate them however you like, whether it be with glitter or spray paint.
Finally, set up your sweet snowflake decorations and bask in the delight they bring to your home.
