A video of a mother and her 11-year-old son’s emotional first meeting has gone viral.

The video has been seen over 7 million times since it was posted to TikTok on January 8.

According to an interview with Good Morning America, Sommer Jean said that the emotional moment was not entirely staged.

‘I was in the bridal room when…’ She explained that she had requested the staff if they could retrieve her son and bring him inside.

The priceless moment was photographed by her hairdresser.

Mekhi Sheffield,11 years old, was completely taken aback when he entered the bridal room and saw his mother in her wedding dress for the first time.

Mekhi became emotional as she praised her kid and asked whether he was prepared to lead her down the aisle.

Jean wiped away her son’s ’happy tears’ as the two were embracing.

Mekhi said he was overwhelmed by the sight of his mother and the realization that the day they had waited for had finally arrived.

My mother and I have been through a lot together, and as I thought back on all of the experiences we’ve shared, I realized, ‘Wow, we’ve truly gone through a lot. Now we’ve arrived!’’ he exclaimed on GMA.
