Diane Keaton may reign supreme when it comes to romantic comedies, but the actress admits that, in her own life, love isn’t exactly one of her top priorities.
Extra recently spoke with an actress who is 77 years old for the purpose of promoting her upcoming romantic comedy titled Maybe I Do.The interview was conducted in order to promote her film.
During the course of this interview, the actress was questioned regarding the amount of time that has transpired since the very last time that she went out on a date.
As a ballpark figure, Keaton proposed the number 15 years as an approximation. They probably just decided,
‘Enough is enough… she’s too weird,’ and that was that. There was no further interaction between them. I am not without my peculiarities, but other than that, life is very good for me.’
She continued by saying, in a tone that was cheerful, ‘Someday, someone will marry me,’ adding, ‘Maybe one of these wonderful men today that had to deal with me today.’
More than three years have passed since Keaton revealed in an interview with InStyle in July 2019 that she had ‘not been on a date in, I would estimate, 35 years.’ These claims originate from Keaton.
When asked if she would like to be invited out on a date, the winner of the Academy Award provided the following response:
‘I am surrounded by many male friends.” Even though I have a great number of pals, I don’t really have somebody to go out with. No mwah-mwah.’
Keaton told PEOPLE in May of the previous year that she had no desire to ever get married, and this statement was published in the magazine.
She answered by saying, ‘Today I was thinking about this,’ when she was questioned about the things that cross her mind regarding marriage.
‘At the age of 73, I believe that I am the only woman in my generation and possibly the generation before mine who has spent her entire life as a single person,’
the speaker says. ‘I have never been married, and I have no plans to get married in the foreseeable future.’
Annie Hall’s leading lady, who has been romantically linked to celebrities such as Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino, amongst others,
does not appear to be disturbed by the fact that she does not now have a significant other in her life.
She commented at the time, ‘I think that I needed more of a maternal aspect.’ ‘I think that I needed more of a maternal aspect.’
In reference to his decision to not get married, Keaton is reported to have said, ‘I don’t believe it would have been a good idea for me to have married,
and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too,’ according to a quote from the actor. ’I’m really glad I didn’t,’ he added, ‘and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too.’
Instead, Keaton is devoting her time to celebrating her own achievements, most recently marking her 77th birthday with a splash of the distinctive humor for which she has become famous.
The actress from ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ posted a video compilation of various birthday cakes on Instagram earlier this month.
The cakes varied in terms of their shape, size, and flavor, and the actress also included a humorous affirmation of her own identity.
The Hollywood legend posted a slideshow of her birthday cake and wished herself a happy birthday. Accompanying the slideshow, she wrote, ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE… ME!’
