The Marine’s Remains Were To Be Mailed To Mom, But Bikers Said ‘No Way!’

After completing seven tours with the Marine Corps in Iraq and Afghanistan, Staff Sgt. Johnathan Turner died in California at the age of 41.

Regrettably, the heroic marine’s mother, who lives in Georgia, was unable to go to California to pick up her son’s ashes when he passed away from complications related to combat.

One gang of bikers, though, couldn’t stand the idea of Turner arriving at home in a FedEx box. In order to bring Staff Sgt.

Johnathan Turner’s ashes to his mother in Georgia in a more respectful manner, bikers from several states joined forces. It was a beautiful sight to behold.

The main reason we did this, according to Oklahoma Patriot Guard Riders Captain David Noble, was because his mother couldn’t make it to the services.

We didn’t want him to arrive at his home in a FedEx package because he had been cremated. In order to transfer the remains of the dead Marine,

the Oklahoma Patriot Guard Riders crossed the Sooner State before getting to the Arkansas border, according to KFSM 5 News.

Asha Lamy, one of the riders, went above and beyond to join the expedition and Turner’s final journey. Lamy said,

‘I need the family to know that you are not alone and we care.’ ‘Last night, I left Huntsville, Alabama, at six o’clock and went over to Oklahoma.’

Riders stopped for a brief ceremony in Staff Sgt. Johnathan Turner’s memory at a rest area on Interstate 40

just across the Arkansas state line from Oklahoma after the late Marine’s ashes had passed through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.

It was unequivocal evidence that these motorcyclists actually have good hearts despite their intimidating exterior.

The United States Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Johnathan Turner is honored to be received by the Arkansas Patriot Guard Riders.

The event was recorded on film, and Norm Breth, Road Captain of the Patriot Guard Riders of Arkansas, said during it, ’It will be a pleasure and a joy to escort him on his journey home.’
