The recipe calls for two chocolate squares and two tablespoons of butter to be heated over low heat, the headstone states.

Add three cups of sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla, and a dash of salt after stirring in a cup of milk until it begins to boil.

The chocolate should next be cooked until it reaches the ‘softball stage’ (when it is malleable) and placed on a marble slab.

Next, simply ‘cool, beat, and eat,’ as the epitaph instructs.

Wade was preparing to return to Europe as an air force bomber at the time, and Kay was a fashion and design student.

Wade subsequently joined the war after the two met on a single dinner date at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel. Yet, they continued to stay in touch.

The pair wrote each other hundreds of letters while Wade was on tour in anticipation of their eventual reunion.

He went to Salt Lake City, Utah, after his tour was through, where he proposed to Kay. On December 18, 1944, they exchanged wedding vows.

Since then, they have had five children and remained married until Wade’s passing. His own grave marker

included a gallery of pictures depicting his life. And now that his wife is by his side, they can rest in peace together for all time.

Kay’s straightforward request to share her recipe with others was fulfilled while she was away. Her headstone recipe went viral and will undoubtedly be made by a ton of sweet tooths.
