They were able to transform theirs into a completely functional ‘granny flat’ with a little effort, which may have motivated you to do the same.

Becca and Anthony Ayon, who live in Portland, opted to create an auxiliary dwelling unit (ADU) and focused on the garage.

Several factors motivate various homeowners to build ADUs. Yet, a research indicated that the two most frequent

reasons are to earn extra money (via rent) or to shelter a relative, according to the website Accessory Dwellings.

Becca and Anthony were attempting to renovate their garage for investment.But, as you can see in the picture below, it was initially in very bad state.

Fortunately, they were told by an expert that it was mostly cosmetic, so they immediately started working.

The 370 square foot apartment is furnished with everything one may require for basic (but fashionable) living.

The house’s accordion glass doors are the first item Caitlin calls attention to.

The doors can be rather expensive ($7,000–$16,000), but they definitely increase the ‘wow factor.’

Using the outside of the house is a huge advantage of compact living.

It would be ideal for an older relative to relax in or visitors of any age.

The bedroom in the house has a zen aesthetic and can accommodate a bed big enough for two people.
In this cozy setting, falling asleep quickly wouldn’t be difficult.

Becca, a skilled designer, added vertical lines to the object to attract the viewer’s eye upward (making it seem bigger).

The kitchen is supposedly the center of the house. Despite its small size, this one is well equipped!

The lower size of the equipment makes more space possible.Yet, the mix of color and the patterned tiles give the kitchen a lot of individuality.

Even the tiny house’s bathroom is elegant and lovely.Boldly colored floor tiles continue into the shower from the ground.

In fact, the tile in the shower has even another great function.

The water drains through the tile cuts rather than a conventional shower drain. How ingenious is that?

Like many others, the pair wants to be financially independent.

They made the decision to build their serene little ADU so they could live there and rent out their primary residence.

Anthony and Rebecca want to be able to pay off their property over the course of the following 15 years.

They will be able to reduce their full-time employment and become mortgage-free as a result.

Although little living isn’t for everyone, this apartment may give you pause as you consider making the switch.
