The famous actor Michael Keaton, well known for playing the lead parts in ‘Batman’ and ‘Beetlejuice,’

has never remarried since his ex-wife Caroline McWilliams passed away from multiple myeloma in 2010 at the age of 64.

Very little is known about how Keaton met fellow actress McWilliams, whom he married in 1982, because

he was very private about his personal life and hardly ever talked about his relationships.

Michael Douglas, better known by his stage name Keaton, made his acting debut in 1975 in television and film roles that were seen as being of a supporting character.

His role as the quick-witted con artist Bill ‘Blaze’ Blazejowski in the comedy ‘Night Shift’ gave

him his big break in Hollywood. He has previously performed puppetry on ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.’

McWilliams was already well-known in her own right when she met Keaton, who was six years her senior.

She had a good career on her own, but Keaton was the passion of her life. The Seattle-born actress began her acting career by making appearances in soap operas.

She was best known for playing Marcy Hill in the family sitcom ‘Soap’ and its spinoff, ’Benson,’ throughout the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s.

She also appeared in the television series ‘Guiding Light’ in 1969. She directed theater shows after having a very active television presence till the year 2003.

Sean Douglas, the couple’s son, was born in 1983 during the course of Keaton and McWilliams’ eight years of marriage.

The little child went on to have a successful career as an in-demand composer and producer.
Tragically, Keaton and McWilliams’ marriage fell apart, and they divorced in 1990.

She and her ex-partner were no longer together when she received the initial diagnosis of a specific type of cancer in her bone marrow.

Keaton gave readers a glimpse into his prior relationship with his ex-wife in an interview with Elle that was conducted not long after McWilliams passed away.

Losing an ex-spouse is ‘harder than you imagine,’ according to his sister and brother, and he admitted that he had strange emotions in the wake of McWilliams’ passing.

He asserted that his sister and brother had informed him that it is ‘harder than you think’ to lose an ex-spouse.

Keaton said, ‘Not necessarily negatively, as we had remained close. It’s not always a terrible thing, though. She set a wonderful example for mothers.

The actor also praised McWilliams for raising their child to be a ‘great person’ and said it is because of her that he still maintains a tight bond with Douglas.

In his acceptance speech for the Golden Globe he won in 2015 for his performance in the movie ‘Birdman,’Keaton thanked his ‘kind, bright, hilarious, brilliant, kind, and compassionate’ best friend,

who also happens to be his only child. McWilliams raised their son to be a ‘great guy.’ River also adores

his granddad, who is Douglas’s child with his wife Rachel Bartov. Grandpa Keaton is a loving man.

Keaton started seeing Michelle Pfeiffer in 1989 after his marriage to co-star Robin McWilliams ended in divorce.

He later dated Courteney Cox, who played Rachel in ‘Friends,’ from 1990 until 1995, despite never getting married again.

While he has declined to address his romantic connections, he did admit to The Guardian that he has previously expressed desire in growing his family.

I suppose everything worked out for the best when Sean later told me he enjoyed being an only child.

In 2022, Keaton traveled with Marni Turner, who had been his longtime lover at the time, to the Emmys.

After Keaton’s name was mentioned for the prize for Best Actor for the miniseries ‘Dopesick,’ she moved in and gave him a passionate kiss on the lips.

Since 2016, there have been persistent speculations that the two have been dating. Keaton and Turner have been spotted going about their regular lives in Los Angeles,

such as grocery shopping, despite the fact that they hardly ever appear in public together as a pair.
