Cal, a French artist, makes whimsical works of art out of found objects. Many sorts of things in the streets serve as can vas for him, including gaps in the wall,

pipes, trash bags, leaves, and empty cans. The artist can transform rocks into books or mailboxes into charming characters just by painting directly on the surface.

I take a lot of walks and see a lot of things,’ he said. The act of observing and scrutinizing is one of my favorite things to do.
