Bailey and Scott

Scott, Bailey’s father, has an illness that causes him to lose sight of the people he cares about. Scott is a good-hearted man.

His condition

Scott has dementia, which affects his memory of those around him, even those who are most close to him.

Sharing the story

Bailey made the decision to use her TikTok account to broadcast videos of her interactions with her dad

in an effort to raise awareness about dementia. So far, their poignant recordings have resonated with a lot of people.

He didn’t remember her

Bailey undoubtedly found it difficult to witness her father’s memory slowly deteriorate each day. He would panic if she called him ‘dad’ because there are occasions when he can even recall her.

Proud dad

Another occasion, Scott was telling the ‘lady’ (who is Bailey, by the way) stories about his marriage and his life as a father of two girls when he wasn’t aware that he was speaking to his daughter.

Lucky man

Towards the end of their conversation, Scott was expressing his gratitude for his lovely family, and Bailey,

who was not aware that she was one of his daughters, remarked that she believed his family was fortunate to have him as well.
