Eric Lane talked about the time he spent next to his daughter’s hospital bed following a horrible occurrence during his speech as the father of the bride at the wedding reception.

The video has been viewed more than 3 million times on TikTok alone because of the engaging tone of his comments.

‘My name is Eric Lane, and I am the father of the bride,’ he begins by introducing himself. He then goes on to share an emotional tale about the challenges his daughter has faced.

She was in a pretty serious accident in 2008, for those of you who don’t know, and as a result, she spent a total of eight days in the intensive care unit at Riley.

She sustained numerous wounds; I won’t list them all here, but one of them was a shattered collar bone, which was arguably the least serious.

At the time, she also had a chest tube that was stuck in her lungs. We discovered that if old dad would simply

sit and place his hand over her heart, it would relieve the pressure enough for her to feel at ease and be able to rest, Eric said.

In order to relieve the pressure and stop the chest tube from pressing up against her collarbone, I sat there for a long time with my palm on her heart.

Eric then concludes his father of the bride speech by discussing how the newlyweds might use the lessons they have learned from this narrative to improve their own marriage.
