On August 24, 2018, Lindsey Sheely published a blog entry.The young child held out his arm and motioned for a hug from the pizza delivery man as he was ready to leave the porch.

The conversation was recorded on the doorbell camera for the family, which Sheely later uploaded to Instagram.

We found it to be really hilarious and lovely, she captioned the photo. As it did for us, “I hope it makes you chuckle and warms your heart.”

Sheely received a contact from Ryan Catterson after she posted the video informing her that he had been

their pizza delivery driver that evening. He requested permission to post the footage to his Facebook page as well.

Sheely looked at Catterson’s profile after receiving his message and was astounded by what she saw.

A post mentioning the creation of a GoFundMe campaign to help with the funeral costs of Catterson’s 16-year-old daughter,

Alyssa. He was working just one week after his daughter’s passing.Just one week before to his encounter with Cohen, Catterson had lost his daughter.

‘That struck me because it felt like my daughter was there after she passed away last week. When asked about Cohen’s actions, Catterson said, ‘It really simply meant a lot to me.

Cohen hugging him was described by him as a ‘small blessing from God.’Ryan was the one to deliver our pizza for a reason, I believe in divine appointments and I know that,’ Sheely remarked.

In an interview with NBC 10 News, he said, ‘I just that it was the ideal timing for it, I had been telling my kids and the whole family how much

I needed hugs before they came and then that wonderful little child gave me one.’ It was almost as if something had been sent to me by the cosmos or my kid.

I couldn’t believe this guy was going through the most terrible thing, but his life was still going on, the woman exclaimed.

He still needed to work and perform his job, and his life had to go on, she told the publication. ‘You never know what someone else is dealing with. This is such a great illustration of that.

Alyssa reportedly battled mental health issues for a large portion of her little life.

In a letter to Sheely, Catterson made the following statement: ‘If I could tell the world one thing,

it’s to make sure you check on your kids regularly, since you never know what they might be battling with internally.’
