Wanda, a 90-year-old resident of San Francisco, California, has been yearning for other people’s company for a very long time.

When she finally decided that something needed to be done, she mustered the bravery and scrawled an impassioned letter on one of her neighbors’ front door.

Marleen Brooks described reading the handwritten note as ‘heart- rending,’ but she also felt relieved that she would soon meet a new friend.

Marleen made a visit to Wanda on that specific day. She visited her elderly buddy, brought some cupcakes over,

and the two of them chatted for a while. Marleen came to the conclusion that Wanda wasn’t the only lonely person in the world who needed a friend.

As a result, she made the decision to announce the beginning of her new friendship online in the hopes that

it would inspire others to assist their elderly neighbors: ‘Frank! Her pleasure could not have been contained when we arrived.

Marleen added: ‘I also advised her that she was free to get in touch with us at any time and that I would

make it a point to meet her again. She is 90 years old, requires oxygen, and suffers from a lot of ailments.’
