Salma Valgarma Hayek Jiménez is the full name of Salma Hayek. In Mexico, she started her career before relocating to Hollywood in 1991.

Hayek gained fame for her portrayal of Frida Kahlo in the 2002 movie ‘Frida.’ She received Best Actress nominations for

the film at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Academy Awards, the BAFTA Film Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards.

Prior to ‘Frida,’ Hayek appeared in a number of American movies. ‘Desperado’ in 1995, ‘From Dusk till Dawn’in 1996, ‘Dogma’ and ‘Wild Wild West’ both came out in

1999 are a few of her other early hit films. A sequel to one of her more recent movies, ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard,’

titled ‘The Hitman’s Wife Bodyguard,’ was released in 2021. Sonia Kincaid, played by Hayek, was the main subject of the movie.

Hayek is wed to François-Henri Pinault, a wealthy French businessman. On March 9, 2007, the actress announced her pregnancy while also confirming their engagement.

On September 21, 2007, Hayek gave birth to their daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, in Los Angeles, California.

On February 14th, 2009, the pair tied the knot in Paris, France. In Venice, Italy, the same year, they exchanged new vows.

The couple has been unbreakable ever since. Hayek has frequently expressed her love for her husband and even defended their purported age difference.

For those who are unaware, Hayek was born in September 1966, just four years before Pinault, who was born in May 1962.

People assumed Hayek and her spouse had a significant age gap because of her youthful appearance,

but in reality, there is just a four-year difference between them—a relatively tiny difference when compared to that of other celebrity couples.

Hayek remembered her first encounter with Pinault in 2016 when speaking to the Associated Press in 2017.

It was so absurd. We got onto the subject of football. We both love soccer a lot. Then, we got into a discussion on science.

He was very educated, engaging, and humorous, and we adore physics and space,’ she recounted.

Hayek and Pinault appeared to be an odd couple, yet they were unquestionably a ‘perfect match.’ Hayek has had

four children to date, three of whom are from her previous union with Pinault, to whom she is now a stepmother. Her only biological child, Valentina, is also a member of the family.

On the ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast hosted by Dax Shepard in February 2021, Hayek also discussed her marriage.

I had no idea who he was. I just learned—or perhaps I read it in a headline—that you wed a very wealthy man.

‘When I first meet him, I think, ‘This guy is so foxy, the confidence, his eyes, he’s so good-looking and charming,’’ Hayek said.

The widespread belief that Hayek merely wed Pinault for financial gain because the two appeared to be

of different ages had been disproved by the fact that their age difference was actually relatively small.

‘It’s an arranged marriage, she’s marrying him for the money,’ everyone remarked when I got married to him.

‘Yeah whatever, think what you want,’ I say. We have been together for 15 years, and I don’t even get offended, she said.

On the Dax Shepard podcast, Hayek further clarified the misunderstandings about her marriage to her husband, who is seen by many as a millionaire magnate:

She defended, saying, “There are all these preconceptions and I heard them, by the way, that just because someone is rich,

(they) might not be a good person, might be somebody materialistic, might be somebody that doesn’t have values,

might even be somebody that is stupid, or that doesn’t deserve it, or that in order to have a lot of money, you did it the wrong way.

She said Pinault ‘finished work, no matter how hard it was’and has continued to carry the burdens like a real man while still being able to return home and be a parent.

The interview was done in 2021, and even now, two years later, people are still talking about how she married Pinault for his wealth. Hayek received a lot of backlash on her

Instagram account after wishing Pinault a happy birthday on May 28, 2023, with some users making sexist remarks about her and her spouse.

Is that grandfather for you? One person questioned in jest, and another said, ‘This guy looks like

someone else’s old uncle.’Even one commenter made the claim that Hayek would leave Pinault “If he only made 200k a yr.’

Some of Hayek’s supporters have maintained her reputation in the comments, in the meanwhile.

‘I believe that many women are envious of her because she is gorgeous and is dating a wealthy man,

but she worked very hard to get her money. She has a high value, too. hates her,’ one person stated.
