When something happens that permanently alters your life, you can be going about your typical day. Marc Hadden is an expert on this topic.

Firefighter Marc Hadden works in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He is married to Beth Hadden and has two sons as well.

The warning that Beth’s prior pregnancies made it risky to have any more biological children prevented Marc and Beth from having more than two children.

Marc told Inside Edition that his wife ‘basically was urged to wrap it up since any additional pregnancies might bring more issues for her and the potential baby.’

Marc and Beth thought about adopting a child, but quickly discovered that their wages as firefighters and teachers made it all but impossible.

Marc and Beth went about their regular lives with their two adorable boys, trusting God with their future.

That is, until Marc took a call at the office. He assumed the phone call would be normal, but it ended up being the one that permanently altered his and his family’s lives.

Marc responded to a plea for help from a woman who was having stomach pains. She was clearly pregnant and in labor when he arrived.

Marc took charge of the first baby delivery because the mother would not make it to the hospital. The infant developed into a beautiful young lady.

I was responsible for all matters Gracie-related.I helped her breathe for the first time, Marc told CBS News.

The mother and her new baby were taken urgently to the hospital by Marc and his companion. Marc allegedly overheard a nurse stating that the

child needed ‘urgent adoption’ by a nurse, according to the woman. What was Marc’s response to this information?

He quipped, ‘Put my name in the hat if this baby is put up for adoption.’

The nurses advised Marc to have a serious conversation with the mother if he and his wife were serious about adopting.

Marc did the same. Marc shared with the new mother about his family’s desire for additional children

but inability to conceive any more. He then went to the nursery to take pictures of the new baby girl.

Marc joked that he wanted to keep his wife after sending her the pictures. Thankfully, it wouldn’t be a joke for very long.

Just a few days later, Marc and Beth would be able to bring their recently adopted baby daughter home.Rebecca Grace Hadden is Gracie.

It wasn’t shocking that the Hadden family wasn’t at all prepared for a new baby after a few wild days.

At that point, their neighborhood stepped in to help. All the baby supplies the Haddens would need as well as some extra were brought by friends, family, and coworkers.

Marc made light of the fact that there were so many baby products in his neighborhood that he couldn’t even fully open his front door.

When Marc spoke with Inside Edition, Gracie was five years old. What activities did Gracie and hero daddy get up to?

‘Gracie has me tethered to her tiny finger. Marc said, ‘There’s no denying that. The Haddens’ lives were all drastically changed as a result of that one emergency call.
