At age 85, Jane Fonda claims to be ‘the happiest’ she has ever been.

The Grace and Frankie actress has frequently remarked how much more she enjoys her life now than she did when she was younger,

when everything seemed unusual and perplexing. Even though Fonda has faced numerous challenges, she never forgets to express her thankfulness for all the wonderful aspects of her life.

In an interview with People to promote her new film Book Club: The Next Chapter, Fonda revealed, ‘I was quite confused as a young person and I didn’t know what I wanted to accomplish.

‘I wish someone had told me that being young is so difficult. Don’t be fooled by anyone. It makes you wonder,

‘What should I do?’ What do I desire? I, who? Whom should I contact? You simply aren’t sure. I didn’t, in any case.

The celebrity also acknowledged that when she was younger, she had a lot of self-esteem issues.

I didn’t know how to say no when someone asked or offered me something since I didn’t hold myself in very high respect, she said.

‘I wish someone had told me, ‘No’ is a whole sentence, and I also wish someone had told me, ‘Don’t give up. Carry on. It will improve.

‘Because I didn’t see a future. I didn’t think I’d live past the age of thirty. Nothing is taken for granted by me.

I’m absolutely in awe that I still have so much energy and am a working performer at my advanced age.

Earlier this year, Fonda made an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast and expressed the same opinion that she had with People.

At the time, she stated, ‘Most of the struggles I’ve faced in life occurred earlier in my life.

‘My bulimia was very, very bad. I had a double life. I was incredibly miserable. I figured I wouldn’t make it through thirty. I’m 85.’

She is currently flourishing, as Fonda noted. She has already acted with Lily Tomlin in the film 80 for Brady, and Book Club 2 will be published on May 12. This is only this year.

The four book club members travel to Italy together for a number of humorous experiences in this follow-up to the 2018 film,

which also stars Mary Steenburgen, Diane Keaton, and Candice Bergen. Should be enjoyable and simple to watch.
