The audience cheered after her amazing performance of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner,’ and we at home were left feeling goosebumps.
The defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, Chris Jones, started crying as he was clearly impacted by the occasion.
However, the three-time Grammy winner has also generated controversy for her pre-show attire, which has generated mixed reviews. See what folks had to say by continuing to read!
Over at the Super Bowl, Reba McEntire
There’s no greater stage than playing the national anthem prior to the Super Bowl beginning,
as everyone knows, and after Chris Stapleton’s outstanding performance the previous year, there were a lot of high expectations for the renowned Oklahoman.
Reba finished to huge acclaim, which created an amazing atmosphere for the Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers game.
The 68-year-old Reba shared some fascinating information regarding her performance a month ago.
The country music singer gave a specific explanation for her decision to accept the offer to sing the national anthem in an interview with CBS Mornings.
‘My manager informed me of the news.I answered, ‘Oh my gosh, well, let me think about that,’when he told me they wanted me to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl,
McEntire remembered. And my boyfriend, Rex Linn, who loves football so much, responded, ‘Yes, she’ll do it! Of course!
Reba’s polarizing ‘mob wife’ appearance
Before performing at the Super Bowl, McEntire posted pictures of herself looking amazing in all blue on Instagram.
She looked amazing in a picture, wearing a beautiful powder blue fur coat from Pinto Ranch, jeans from Dillard’s,
and knee-high royal blue boots from Old Gringo Boots to show off her modern take on country music style.
Most of the responses to McEntire’s post were favorable, with admirers quickly praising her in the comments section.
‘Hi, Queen! One follower wrote, ‘We see you and we are here for it!,’ and another added, “Looking like royalty!’‘I’m here for itttt! It’s giving Western mob wife!” exclaimed a third admirer.
Rapper T-Pain noticed as well. He shared the image on X (formerly Twitter) and captioned it, saying,
‘The whole club lookin at herrrrrrrr [sic],’ a reference to his phrase from the popular song ‘Low’ from 2007.
Though the remarks were made with good intentions, not everyone found McEntire’s style to be appealing. Indeed, one commenter described the ensemble as ‘not a good look.’
However, McEntire has previously discussed her style choices, saying that her favorite clothing brand was Levi’s in 2001 during a fashion event in New York.
‘I never wore anything else because I grew up on a ranch,’ she further stated to Country Living in 2016.
In 2018, she acknowledged that while she occasionally wears heels, particularly at award shows, she still favors Justin Boots.
