The well-known actor Michael J. Fox, who is currently battling Parkinson’s disease, faced challenges from an early age. Fox,

who was raised in a working-class family and was born in Canada, first developed an interest in acting in junior high school.

When he was seventeen years old, he moved to Los Angeles because of his love, even though he was struggling financially.

‘I was 18 years old, with no money, no connections, and I was literally dumpster diving for food,’ Fox recalls those difficult times.

Notwithstanding the difficulties it had, Fox was successful in the entertainment industry. His role in the comedy series ‘Family Ties’ helped him gain notoriety,

and his iconic portrayal of Marty McFly in the movie ‘Back to the Future’ solidified his place in the Hollywood system.

Thinking back on his career, Fox remembered a conversation he had with his mother on taking the job.

‘My mother still believes that doing Back to the Future was a terrible idea for me, at least until two weeks ago,’ Fox stated. She seemed to enjoy the movie, but I could feel my energy level rising.

Following a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis, Michael J. Fox decided to officially retire in 2020.
