Every job has a different set of difficulties. Some require a lot of work, while others pay less.
The British Army’s highest ranking regiment of soldiers, the Grenadier Guards, dedicate their lives to defending both the Queen and the country.
However, there are a lot more psychological and physical obstacles to overcome when it comes to the responsibility of defending one’s nation and its leaders.
A well-known media production and distribution company called All3Media produced a documentary on the Grenadier Guards in 2011.
Many people have been moved by the video of a newly hired guard named Stephen Cooper getting to know his younger sister while on duty.
The documentary offers us an intimate look into the lives of the Grenadier Guards, who maintain ceremonial excellence while always being ready to defend their country in hostile conflict areas.
The tale of Cooper’s first appearance as the royal guard following extensive training is told near the end of the video.
His mother and younger sister had come in London to celebrate his big day, while the new royal guard was getting ready in his drab winter suit.
Cooper’s mother said, ‘I didn’t get much sleep last night,’ as her anxiety over his debut increased.
Cooper was prepared to join his brigade after a brief wardrobe mishap, but not before spending some time with his mother and sister.
He maintained his dignity even in that tender time, politely requesting his excited younger sister to wait.
The Queen’s Guards, just enlisted, were prepared to guard Buckingham Palace. According to the documentary, tourists were often drawn to the Queen’s residence when the guards changed.
One group of guards replaced another in the century boxes outside the palace, marching with remarkable power and discipline while hundreds of cameras recorded their every move.
Knowing Stephen, he’ll likely be thinking, ‘Alright, I’m on board.'” The pleased mother uttered, ‘Let me get some action.’
However, Cooper made his public debut at St. James Palace, where he would be providing protection for Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince Harry.
Since this watchtower was accessible to the general public, Cooper attracted a lot of attention from tourists who came to take pictures with him.
His younger sister Zoe was among the visitors, and she was very eager to record his first photo. His mother was beaming with pride and had tears in her eyes as she assumed that beneath
his tough front, he would have been feeling something. With great delight, little Zoe ran to her brother and clutched his hand while their mother took their photo.
Cooper couldn’t show his sister how much he loved her because he was meant to be still, but when the camera panned in, we saw him tightening his grip on her tiny hand.
Zoe cuddled up to her brother before they left, and it was evident that Cooper was feeling sad on his first day, especially after spending so little time with his family.
This video still makes people cry more than ten years later. ‘This was fascinating, but it also made me feel bad for the young child because of how much she clearly loves and admires her brother.
The fact that he went from living practically nothing to leading what appears to be one of the world’s most elite military forces is astounding.
I applaud these guys as a former U.S. Marine,’
tweeted @Quasimodo1957. ‘Steven Cooper performed admirably.
Despite the uniform concerns, he continued to report for duty. It’s nice to see that he made his sister and mother proud,” @RS-jh2kl commented.
