We’ve all had trouble keeping up with the newest gadgets and software at some point. For older people who were not born and raised in an era of constantly evolving technology,
it is even more challenging. Sometimes kids are able to learn, but other times things can get humiliating very fast.
During a guest interview on Australian TV station 9 News Adelaide, a similar incident occurred. According to Huff Post, Mark Borlace, of Australia’s Royal Automobile Association,
had trouble adjusting the background during his conversation with anchor Alice Monfries.
In a video posted to the channel’s Instagram account,
Borlace can be seen attempting to switch from an oceanic background to a plain one. ‘I appreciate your patience as I work through this,’ Borlace remarked, grinning and handling the issue with dignity.
He said, ‘Studio effects… How do I get back to blur… studio filters,’on the video while Monfries laughed a few times.
He declares, ‘I’m going to log out and come right back in,’ as a pizza hat soon emerges on his head. Okay, great, great,’ Mongries responds.
‘The virtual world can be a difficult place to navigate, as this #9News guest found out today while struggling for several minutes to get the right Zoom background,’ the channel captioned this video.
During the interview, RAA presenter Alice Monfries was stunned speechless when Mark Borlace accidentally covered his head with a party hat filter.
Quick comments followed. I adore this! A user commented, ‘This guy is just a great example of not taking life too seriously—everything is fine.” Another review stated,
‘I literally laughed until I cried and then immediately watched it again and laughed until I cried again.’
‘This is such wholesome fun,’ a fan even said, thanking the channel for spreading laughs. I’m grateful for the laugh.’
‘Who wouldn’t want that patience and that chuckle of a gentleman on speed dial? It’s precious, another user commented.
After witnessing this incredible Zoom blunder by Borlace, RAA shared the video again on its Facebook page.
The caption said, ‘Party hat or pizza? Even our cherished RAA screen veterans occasionally have trouble with Zoom backdrops.
Mark, you are loved. ‘We’re really getting into the spirit of this today thanks to Mark’s partner Monique for making the real-life emoji for us!” RAA said with another picture that they had published.
