The appearance of the first-ever TV presenter in history to have a facial tattoo

News anchors are accustomed to dressing in work attire, with understated makeup and hairstyles, and, of course, without any tattoos. But on December 31, 2021, this widely held belief was altered.

In television history, Oriini Kaipara from New Zealand made history by being the first anchor to have tattoos on both her hands and face. There was nothing like that on any TV station, in any nation, prior to her.

The problem is that Oriini only lately discovered that she is, to the fullest extent possible, a member of New Zealand’s indigenous Maori people. Oriini chose to have a Maori face tattooed in remembrance of this.

The girl has always wanted to work in television and is now in disbelief that she got hired to read the news despite her appearance.
