We’re in Georgia, where a basic hut has been transformed into a comfortable home by John and Finn, a couple who enjoy living in compact areas.
When they first met and fell in love more than ten years ago, their journey began. They came to the realization that they might live happily without a large residence after traveling from England to Georgia.
They made the decision to live simply and sustainably by building a house out of a shed. For $6,500, they purchased a solid shed, which they immediately set to work converting into a cozy home.
They have expanded the shed over time, increasing its size and usefulness. Now with a kitchen and bathroom, it is 500 square feet.
Numerous animals, including dogs, cats, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, and even a partridge, live at their home.
Living in connection with nature is very important to John and Finn. They use sustainable practices to grow their own food in a large garden.
They have also devised ingenious methods for waste and water management. They employ a device to convert garbage into cooking gas and collect rainwater.
Every inch of room in their compact house is utilized well. They’ve even got a kitchen with a plenty of natural light because of a greenhouse-style arrangement.
Their house is a representation of their values and way of life—a straightforward, loving, sustainable existence.
