who revealed his own cancer diagnosis and course of treatment in early February, came before her.
It follows a protracted period of extreme doubt on Catherine’s condition.

She had abdominal surgery in January and mainly withdrew from public life while she attempted to rehabilitate.

Similar to the king, 42-year-old Catherine did not disclose the type of cancer she had, but she did ask the public and news media to respect her right to privacy.
