The way that the public has responded to the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis has ‘moved’ Kate Middleton and Prince William.
A representative for Kensington Palace informed the Wales family on March 23 that the royal couple
is appreciative of the ‘kind messages’ they have received since the princess’s recent medical disclosure.
In response to Her Royal Highness’ letter, people in the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and throughout the world have sent heartfelt words to the Prince and Princess, according to a statement released by People.
‘They are deeply touched by the kindness and encouragement shown by the public, and they appreciate your understanding of their request for privacy during this time.’
Following the announcement in January that the 42-year-old mother of three had undergone a ‘planned abdominal surgery,’
the palace has been largely silent regarding the princess’s condition. Before the princess revealed her personal message on March 22,
a lot of people on the internet resorted to conspiracy theories due to a confusing photo-editing controversy, a few ambiguous updates, and uncertainty about her planned appearances.
Middleton said, in part, ‘I had major abdominal surgery in London in January, and at the time it was thought that my condition was noncancerous.’
‘The surgery went well, but examinations following the procedure revealed the presence of malignancy.
As a result, my medical team recommended that I start a prophylactic chemotherapy course, which I am currently undergoing.
Before addressing to the public, the Princess of Wales said that she had been giving herself some time to process the news and tell her kids about her illness.
‘It is through concentrating on the things that will support my mental, physical, and spiritual healing that I am well and growing stronger every day,’ she stated in her video.
William being by my side gives me a lot of consolation and security as well. As is the affection, encouragement, and kindness so many of you have shown. It’s really important to both of us.
As she continues her medical treatments, Kate Middleton asked for ‘time, space, and privacy’ in her final statement.
‘I have always found great joy in my work, and I look forward to returning when I can, but for now I have to concentrate on getting well,’ she stated.
‘I’m also thinking of everyone whose life has been touched by cancer right now. Please don’t give up or lose hope for anyone dealing with this illness, no matter how it manifests itself. You’re not by yourself.
